At just 15 years old, Clydebank’s own Sam Baird is proving himself to be one of Scotland’s most exciting young musicians.  Fresh off his performance at the Live in Loch Goil Music Festival, Sam has now added another impressive achievement to his growing list—winning first prize at the Lomond Unplugged talent competition.

Held at Loch Lomond Shores in Balloch, the competition, sponsored by SHS Events, brought together some of the most promising young artists in the region. With a judging panel featuring Phil Briscoe and Paul Gaughan of Lomond Radio, alongside Jim Gellatly of Amazing Radio, the event was a true celebration of local talent. Sam’s performance stood out, earning him the top prize—a £1,000 award.

Sam has been making waves in the Scottish music scene, having previously supported 80s pop legends Go West at a concert in Paisley.  His passion for music started early, inspired by his parents’ love for classic rock, and he has been performing live since the age of seven.  With skills spanning guitar, piano, drums, bass, and vocals, Sam’s versatility and dedication set him apart.

Winning Lomond Unplugged is just another step in his journey toward becoming a touring musician, a dream he has been chasing since childhood.  With his talent, drive, and growing recognition, Sam Baird is undoubtedly a name to watch in the Scottish music scene.
