Lomond Radio’s youngest presenter, Ruairidh Mac presents Lomond Radio Kids Edition every Monday evening between 6pm and 7pm. He plays an hour of hand-picked songs and has some topical chat.
He’ll be on air on Monday 21st July as usual which happens to be his 200th Show. Ruairidh (12), has been with the station since he was 8 years of age and enjoys playing his eclectic selection of music. Everything from Ava Max to The Beatles.
And during the 200th Lomond Radio Kids Edition, Ruairidh will be getting a surprise. He has been awarded the Blue Peter Music badge for his passion for music demonstrated through his dedication at Lomond Radio.
Ruairidh’s dad, Charlie, is also a presenter at the station and loves mentoring the young lad. “He really enjoys making people happy. I am delighted that he has been one of the few lucky young people to be awarded this special Blue Peter Badge” he said.
Lomond Radio Director Paul Lucas had this to say about the young volunteer:
“You can really hear how much Ruairidh has grown in confidence since starting his show. We are so proud to have Ru as part of the Lomond Radio family and honoured to be part of his young radio journey.”
He continued to praise Ru saying: “If you tuned into Ru’s 200th show, you will have likely witnessed a significant milestone—not just in episode count, but in his on-air development. Whether he celebrated by highlighting his top-loved tracks or involving Dad for a chat, it’d be a sweet moment showing how far his confidence and skills have come.
