Pupils from schools across the Vale of Leven will put their vision for their community’s future on display at a range of exhibitions next week.
The exhibitions are the culmination of their work on aspirational project Your Vale, Your Future.
The project asked pupils to look around the area and use their imagination and creativity to design new additions to the everyday places they frequent.
Creative pupils brought their ideas to life using technical drawings; modified photography and innovative design products to visualize their ideas.
The project, which included pupils from Primary one up to Primary seven and young people in S2 and S3 from Vale of Leven Academy, will be on display in the area throughout June.
Councillor Michelle McGinty, Convener of Education, said: “Our young people are so creative and I’m really excited to see their imaginative ideas. This is an important project to be part of because as well as using their design skills, it has encouraged our pupils to be community-minded and to really care about what happens in their local area. We have many beautiful areas within the Vale of Leven and I will look forward to visiting some of the exhibitions celebrating these.”
Councillor John Millar, Vice Convener of Education, said: “Well done to all the pupils involved in this fantastic project. This has been such a hands-on activity which has included spending time in our local areas to research the spaces we have on offer, and I look forward to seeing the results when the work is put on display.”
An exhibition will be held in Alexandria Library on 1-5 June with young people from the Vale of Leven Academy attending on Wednesday, 3 June.
Exhibitions by primary schools within the Vale of Leven Learning Community will be ready to view from Monday 1 June till Friday 5 June during normal opening times for each venue.
