Local venue raises outstanding £10,466 for St Margaret of Scotland Hospice

St Margaret of Scotland Hospice would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to Clare and Andy Dunn, owners of Barraston Farm for hosting an incredible fundraising evening that raised an amazing £10,466 in support of local hospice care.

The special event, held at the popular wedding and function venue, brought together friends, family and local suppliers for a sold out dinner attended by 90 guests, with a delicious menu curated by Kitchen Window, Killearn. Later in the evening, a further 60 guests joined the celebrations, enjoying fantastic entertainment and an extraordinary raffle. The fundraising evening was inspired by Kimberley, a close friend of hosts Andy and Clare, who is currently receiving care and support from the hospice, making the evening especially meaningful for everyone involved.

The overwhelming generosity shown by daytime and evening guests, local businesses and suppliers made the night a tremendous success, creating a space for everyone to enjoy tremendous food and fantastic entertainment, all whilst raising vital funds that will help support patients and families across the community.

Andy and Clare were supported by an extensive network of friends and local suppliers who donated prizes, services and their time to ensure the event was a success. Their commitment, compassion and generosity were evident throughout every aspect of the evening.

Clare and Andy Dunn, owners of Barraston Farm said:

“The Hospice has become very close to our hearts, and we wanted to do something meaningful to give back. The support we received from was simply outstanding, and we are incredibly proud that together we raised £10,466 through our fundraising dinner and raffle. The Hospice does incredible work for people at the hardest of times and we just had to do something to say thank you.”

The kindness shown by everyone who attended, donated raffle prizes and contributed in any way demonstrates the strength and generosity of our local community. These funds will make a real difference to the patients and families we care for every day.”

The hospice would also like to extend a special thank you to Wunderbar Glasgow; BARRASTON Contracts and Sims Automatics who all made additional donations on the evening.

Through their efforts, Andy and Clare have not only raised significant funds but have also helped raise awareness of the essential care and support provided by the hospice.
