Plans for essential maintenance on a busy stretch of road in Dumbarton have been postponed until further notice.

Last week, the engineering firm Amey announced plans for traffic disruption on the A82 southbound section between Hill View and the Dunglass roundabout beginning on April 20 for ten days.

But the firm has now postponed the plans without giving a reason or new date for the roadworks.

This will be good news for local businesses such as the BP garage and Black Rooster Restaurant with the original planned works causing restricted access to these premises.

The roadworks set for the A898 at the Erskine Bridge approach will go ahead as planned, starting on Monday April 18 until Wednesday, April 20 between 8pm and 6am each night.
