Kiltwalk 2022 - Road closures

Drivers are being warned ahead of road closures set to be in place for the Kiltwalk this weekend.

West Dunbartonshire Council announced the closures on social media earlier today.

Balloch Road, Balloch between Carrochan Road and Tullichewan Road will be closed on Sunday (April 24) between 8am and 11.59pm to help facilitate the event.

There is also the possibility of waiting and loading restrictions on the complete lengths of Balloch Road and Tullichewan Road.

These will only be applied if and as necessary to maintain traffic flow or access.

WDC stated that there may also be an introduction of a temporary one-way operation of Tullichewan Road, Balloch from Balloch Road to Lomond Road only.

Emergency services are asked to note that access past the event may not always be possible or at least delayed.

Diversions will be in place on the following roads in both directions and as indicated by signs.

  • Balloch Road
  • Tullichewan Road
  • Dalvait Road
  • Carrochan Road
  • Luss Road
  • Lomond Road

Access will be maintained at all times for pedestrians and maximised where possible for vehicles going to off-road properties from one or either side of the closures.

Motorists are being advised that Moss O’Balloch car park will be shut by its operator except for those permitted by the event organiser.

Bus routes will be diverted, this will be indicated at the affected bus stops.
