Balloch Concert by Helensburgh and Denver Choirs

On Friday 13th June, choirs from Helensburgh and from Denver, Colorado, will be performing a joint concert performance in Lomond Parish Church in Balloch.

This is a free event, with donations going to local charity, CHAS at Robin House in Balloch.

Alicia Tindal, Chairman of the Helensburgh Oratorio Choir, said, “We are thrilled to be hosting “One World Singers” from the United States, and really looking forward to sharing a musical evening with them”.

One World Singers, from Denver, Colorado, are on a European tour and will be in Scotland in June. They will be based in Glasgow but visiting the Loch Lomond area and have taken the opportunity to join up with the Oratorio Choir to give a local performance.

Alicia explained that the evening will be a musical feast of songs by each choir, ranging from traditional to modern, and from country to classical. There will be around 20-30 singers in each choir. A group from Helensburgh Oratorio are travelling to Verona in Italy this summer to take part in an international music festival and they will be singing their programme for the festival.

She added, “we are delighted to be singing in Balloch and we are all very excited to be taking part and raising funds for a very worthwhile charity. Both choirs will come together for the finale, which of course could only be “Loch Lomond”.

The concert is free and starts at 7pm in the Lomond Parish Church at 1 Lomond Road, Balloch G83 8RJ.
