The Met Office has issued an Amber warning for high winds today as a result of Storm Dudley reaching our shores. I can hear the wind starting to pick up as I type this at 0730 Wed 16 Feb, 2022. Here’s what the Met Office is telling us to expect from Dudley…
What to expect
- Road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected, and some roads and bridges are likely to close, leading to longer journey times and cancellations.
- Probably some fallen trees and damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs
- There is a good chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
- Injuries and danger to life is likely from large waves and beach material being thrown onto coastal roads, sea fronts and properties
Stay tuned to Lomond Radio today and we will keep you updated with any local issues if and when they occur.
Our advice would be to stay in today unless it’s absolutely necessary to travel. Stay safe!
